Outsourcer Call Connection is set to extend its operations in Newcastle bringing up to 100 new jobs to its Newcastle Quayside contact centre.
Call Connection is investing over £1million in the move, which will create a state-of-the-art, 6,500 sq ft contact centre at Pandon on Newcastle Quayside. The new operation will be open in November and fully operational by January 2014.
Founded in 2003, Call Connection has twice been named as a Sunday Times ‘Top 100 Company’ and holds the prestigious Investors in People Silver Standard award. It currently has a contact centre in Ipswich and a London sales office, employing 250 full-time staff.
The company will be recruiting an initial launch team of 25 contact centre staff ahead of the January launch, with further expansion planned to increase staff numbers further early in 2014 and creating up to 100 jobs by the end of next year. The team will be responsible for telephone lead trading work with clients including the AA, Admiral and Aviva.
Call Connection’s managing director, Graeme Kalbraier, was pleased to be bringing the company to the North East: “Call Connection is ten years’ old now and with demand for our services rapidly increasing, we’re in the best possible position to expand our operation.
“I am delighted to be opening an office in Newcastle and recruiting the new staff who will make a valuable contribution to the continued success of our business. We have teamed up with Adecco and Randstad to help us manage our local recruitment – we’re looking for good talkers with bags of personality and ideally, about six months’ of contact centre experience.
“We will be investing heavily in the development of the team and rewarding them with benefits including a highly competitive salary and extensive training opportunities.”
North East Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, James Ramsbotham, said: “The creation of over a 100 new jobs is fantastic news and further evidence that the regional service sector continues to bounce back strongly following the recession.
“Call Connection’s significant investment is a clear demonstration of the company’s commitment to the North East and their belief that our talented and friendly workforce can deliver this exciting new project.”
James Greetham, a supervisor working at Call Connection’s Ipswich office said: “The team in Ipswich are all very excited about the expansion and it shows that the company is growing from strength to strength.
“I’ve been part of the close-knit team here for six years and with numerous training opportunities, a great salary, bonus schemes and career progression opportunities, I can’t recommend working here highly enough. We’re looking forward to welcoming our North East colleagues to the team in the next few months.”
