“You’ve got to start with the customer experience and work backwards towards the technology” Steve Jobs
UBM EMEA has announced the co-location of Technology for Marketing, eCommerce Expo and Customer Contact Expo, combining to create the UK’s largest event for customer technology with an audience of more than 15,500 visitors and 500 exhibitors across 17,000sqm.
Taking place at Olympia London on September 28th and 29th 2016, these three events will unite marketing, ecommerce and customer service professionals to fulfil a growing need to connect their disciplines in order to provide all aspects of excellent customer experience.
This move has been underpinned by an extensive research programme carried out by customer insight specialists within UBM and independent business market researchers, Redshift Research. As part of this process HSBC’s Global
Head of Marketing, Commercial Banking Amanda Rendle said:
“I think it’s a very good move to bring the events together, as marketing, ecommerce and customer service are different touch-points with the same customer. It will help us move towards technology-enabled marketing. We need to stop thinking about digital as being something separate and go back to thinking about a customer-led organisation”
Tim Sawyer, EVP Operations for Green Man Gaming added:
“Having three independent events that connect the dots between marketing, ecommerce and customer service all in one place makes things infinitely easier.”
Quantitative research into existing audiences and stakeholders has also shown significant crossover in buying needs:
– 50% of the visitors to eCommerce Expo and 35% of the visitors to Customer Contact Expo are actively looking to invest in marketing technologies
– 40% of the visitors to Technology for Marketing are actively looking to invest in ecommerce technologies
– 50% of the visitors to eCommerce Expo and 35% of the visitors to Technology for Marketing are actively looking to invest in customer service technologies
Simon Parker, Managing Director, UBM EMEA London said
“Each of these established events already address different aspects of the way brands engage with their customers. However, as these customers increasingly expect to move seamlessly between channels, a sophisticated approach to technology implementation and business operations is required.”
“With these existing market leading events, UBM EMEA has an exciting opportunity to connect forward thinking professionals with technology providers and specialists that will help them to create best in class customer experience.”
