Back in May 2022 contact-centres.com reported that outsourcing company Capita had secured a 5-year £63m contact with Scottish Power to provide contact centre services provided by 375 contact centre agents.
How the times have changed as it has now been reported that the contract is potentially being outsourced to South Africa with the loss of up to 300 agent positions.
Capita have advised staff at their contact centres working on the Scottish Power contract of the ‘risk’ to their jobs and have entered a 45 day period of consultation with both Unions and Staff.
A Capita spokesperson said: “Changes to our delivery model unfortunately mean that all colleagues working on our Scottish Power contract in the UK have been placed at risk of redundancy.
“Our priority is to support impacted colleagues through this change, and includes looking at redeployment opportunities where possible.”
