ResQ Announce 50 New Contact Centre Agent Jobs

Contact centre specialist, ResQ, is creating 50 jobs at its Seaham site, with plans for up to 150 more early next year after securing major contract wins.

The wins come as welcome news for the area’s customer service sector, with ResQ’s growth providing an employment boost following a raft of major employers scaling back their Northeast operations this year.

Based at Spectrum Business Park on the site of the former Dawdon Colliery, ResQ has been operating in Seaham since 2016 and with new contract wins and existing client growth, this represents a major vote of confidence in the town and the region’s skilled workforce.

ResQ will manage day-to-day customer service operations on behalf of its blue-chip client base. Recruitment is already underway, with the first new starters beginning training this week.

Roles are available for customer service advisors, and ResQ, offer structured training programmes and clear progression routes for team leader, and operational support positions forming a well-supported career development pathway.

Gill Marchbank, chief executive officer at ResQ said:

“Seaham has been an important part of our business for almost a decade, and we’re proud to be growing here again. There’s so much customer service talent right on our doorstep, and we’re proud to be helping generate jobs and keep skills in the area.

“All of our new roles come with structured training, strong day-to-day support, and clear paths for progression. Many of our leaders in Seaham started out in frontline roles, so there’s real scope for people to build lasting careers and develop alongside the company.

“These new roles sit at the centre of our AI innovation, but people will always be at the core of the customer experience. Our goal is to give our teams the tools and technology that help them excel – enhancing, not replacing, the human connection that defines great service.

“We can’t wait to welcome our new team members and see them become part of the next chapter for ResQ in Seaham.”

The Seaham site, which overlooks the Durham coastline, has played an important role in the town’s regeneration, supporting the area’s shift from traditional industry to service-based employment.

ResQ plans to continue recruiting throughout 2026 as client contracts develop, with the potential to bring the total number of new jobs to 200.
