Convergys Create 600 jobs at Newcastle Contact Centre

convergys.newcatle.image.july.2016Convergys, a customer management outsource company, has been confirmed that the company is to create up to 600 jobs when it’s new Newcastle contact centre, situated at The Rocket, Stephenson Park, ‘goes live’ later this summer.

The outsourcer will see it’s headcount rise to 1,300 in the North east area having another contact centre at Quorum Business Park, Longbenton.

Cllr Nick Forbes, Leader of Newcastle City Council commenting on the announcement said,

“I’m delighted that today we are able to deliver on that commitment and support Convergys with their growth plans, which will create hundreds of jobs for people in our city. Importantly, it sends out a strong message of confidence to the market, making it clear that Newcastle is open for business despite the current uncertainty.”
