SouthWestern to begin trading as Capita Customer Solutions

Capita has announced that Cork-based firm SouthWestern, one of the leading domestic providers of outsourced managed services in Ireland, will  begin trading as Capita Customer Solutions.

The business, which was acquired by Capita in August 2014, employs 600 people in Ireland and another 300 in Poland and the UK.  It provides services for tens of thousands of households and business across Ireland each year. Under the new brand, the company will grow its capabilities and draw on the expertise and scale of the wider Capita group.

Capita Customer Solutions first contract was with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in 1996 in relation to cattle registration and protecting the integrity of the food chain. The firm has significantly diversified its operating sectors since then.

The company now offers a large and diverse range of services to clients in the agriculture, food, telecommunications, travel, energy and media industries. These include Iarnród Éireann, Independent News and Media, the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Failte Ireland and the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB). In just over 10 years PIAB has driven a significant reduction of over €1 billion in the processing costs associated with the assessment of personal injury claims to the benefit of its stakeholders and society in general. Capita Customer solutions has been an integral part of PIAB’s service delivery since its formation.

The rebrand comes as Capita moves to create a more integrated business model across Ireland, which will be referred to as Capita Ireland. Capita employs over 1,700 people in total in the Republic of Ireland and the Capita Ireland group will comprise of several individual firms delivering financial services, IT services, e-procurement and customer management. Each individual company will continue to trade primarily under its own brand.
