Job losses announced at Hewlett Packard

hewlett.packard.imageIt has been reported that Hewlett Packard (HP) are making 220 permanent and 60 contractor staff redundant at their contact centre based in Sandyford, Dublin citing the loss a major outsource contract.

The HP multilingual contact centre, which operates on behalf of Barclaycard on a Pan-European basis, is set to close by March 2014.

In a statement HP commented,

“HP is fully committed to its operations in Ireland and will work closely with its employees on the transition and redeployment opportunities to help minimize any impact and ensure high standards of customer delivery quality are maintained, HP continues to hire in Ireland in line with recent announcements and is on schedule to build a new state of the art facility at its site in Ballybrit, Galway.”
