CC33 Contact Centre Celebrates Mental Health First Aid Team

CC33 celebrates mental health first aid team and wellbeing hub on World Mental Health Day

Sheffield contact centre CC33 is ramping up its employee support by having trained mental health aiders on site to support a new wellbeing hub.

The company, based on Ecclesall Road, now has four first aiders on site who can provide support to staff who are struggling with their mental health.

It forms part of CC33’s employee wellbeing benefits, which include a ‘505’ breakout area, a ‘Zen’ quiet space for people to relax and recharge in, an on-site barber for men to talk, as well as a new wellbeing hub. The team also get a free breakfast and cheap lunches from ‘Café 33’, the company’s on-site eatery.

Alongside the benefits package, CC33 has established five key principles for staff in a bid to safeguard wellbeing and help maintain positive mental health at work. These ‘people promises’ are posted on the walls of CC33’s offices and encourage trusting each other, listening to others, thanking people for their help and togetherness.

Alan Cassidy, HR Director at CC33, said:

“With the current cost of living crisis and the turbulent times of the past few years, we know there has never been a more important time to ensure that the mental health of our staff is protected.

“Many of our staff are young people who have worked through lockdown and may have been through tough times, so we need to be there for them if they need our support.

“Our new wellbeing hub will enhance the support available to our staff too. We’ll be there to listen and offer support where we can – it’s just one part of our wellbeing support package, which we are continually refining and developing.”

CC33 was founded by Paul Fletcher. Paul has more than 20 years’ experience in the call centre industry – from eventually working his way up through the ranks to setting up centres in South Africa.

In 2013, Paul decided that the time was right to establish a more boutique and tech-enabled contact centre in Sheffield – and CC33 became a reality. In the years since CC33 was established, we have continued to grow and flourish, and we now employ more than 550 people, in and around the Sheffield area.

We tailor our services in a way that is both beneficial to our staff and bespoke to our clients. We have a smaller team of agents assigned to each Team Leader, so this specific 1-1 attention helps the agent’s development and performance, and also helps to ensure that costs are significantly lowered for our clients.

We believe quality standards should be a core expectation, operational excellence should be a daily norm and outstanding customer acquisition should be routine. We also believe a huge part of our success has been due to meeting the highest industry expectations.
