Wordwatch appoints William Davenport as Managing Director

Wordwatch, a leading provider of communications governance and archiving solutions, is today announcing the appointment of William Davenport as its Managing Director. In this role, William will lead the business, driving growth, continued innovation, and the execution of Wordwatch’s strategic vision.

William has spent 12 years with Business Systems Ltd, where he played a pivotal role in the success of its Wordwatch brand. As Chief Sales Officer, he led significant client wins and grew the brand’s recognition within the compliance and archiving sector. Now, William is focused on Wordwatch’s continued evolution, including its dedicated channel partner program.

William Davenport, confirms,

“I am excited to lead Wordwatch through its next phase of growth. Having been part of Wordwatch’s journey from the start, I understand the market dynamics and the immense potential we have to innovate and expand our compliance-focussed solution. We will deepen our focus on delivering best-in-class communications governance solutions through our global channel partners, driving performance and supporting their customers in replacing risk and regulatory burden with efficiency and simplicity”

The market opportunity for Wordwatch is significant. Recent research has revealed that 76% of regulated organisations currently use separate systems for storing voice and digital communications data. Over a third (36%) acknowledged that they would benefit from a unified management system to simplify access to vital interactions. In addition, a further 44% of organisations report that at least one of their legacy recording systems is either end-of-life or unsupported, creating urgent compliance and operational challenges.

As regulations tighten and businesses seek to modernise their compliance infrastructure, Wordwatch is uniquely positioned to help organisations consolidate voice and digital communications data, streamline compliance management, and reduce risk.

William’s appointment follows the strategic decision to establish Wordwatch as a standalone brand from Business Systems Ltd, enabling both brands to focus on their core strengths. Wordwatch’s channel-only model will continue to be central to its strategy.

Mike Wardell, CEO of Business Systems, added,

“William’s expertise has been fundamental to Wordwatch’s success since its inception. His deep understanding of the market and proven track record in driving growth and customer success make him the ideal person to take Wordwatch forward.

With his leadership, we have big goals to expand and build stronger relationships with our channel partners. I am confident that William will lead Wordwatch into a new era of growth and innovation.”
