Content Guru Appoints Experienced Policing Director to Drive Innovation in Police Public Contact
Content Guru has announced the appointment of Andy Day as its first Director of Policing, responsible for coordinating and driving the business’s expansion in the Police sector. The creation of this key new role comes at a time when increasing numbers of forces are moving their contact operations away from outdated telephony-era systems to the cloud, and preparing their infrastructure for the AI age. Andy will lead Content Guru’s dedicated policing team, working closely with forces to enhance resilience and modernise public contact.
Andy brings over 30 years of experience in policing and public safety technology, having previously been a senior police leader in Contact Management with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and Thames Valley Police, and most recently holding the role of Director of Business Development for the Public Safety Group at Sopra Steria, the market-leading supplier of command-and-control systems to UK policing.
Content Guru is uniquely positioned as the only Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) provider supporting emergency services nationwide. Its storm® Emergency Services Platform (ESP) is the only cloud contact management platform trusted at scale by emergency service organisations, enabling forces to migrate safely from legacy, on-premises suppliers while meeting rigorous regulatory requirements.
Content Guru’s UK police customers already include the country’s second largest force, two of the largest forces in the south east and a national special police force. In addition to providing greater functionality and guaranteed availability in excess of 99.999%, storm ESP meets police data sovereignty requirements, with all created data being processed and stored in the UK. Forces also benefit from a dedicated 24x7x365 Secure Operations Centre manned by security-cleared personnel, and can unlock an increased range of communication channels, such as email, video, email, and social media, allowing forces to supplement traditional voice communications and meet today’s public expectations.
Andy Day, Director of Policing, Content Guru, commented,
“Cloud communication platforms are transforming police public contact as forces move away from risky legacy on-premises technologies and suppliers,”
“Forces are often wary of migrating to the cloud, but the risks associated with outdated legacy technologies are now just too high to ignore. I’m looking forward to working with forces to unlock their potential and helping them to provide the best services to the public.”
Martin Taylor, Co-Founder and Deputy CEO, Content Guru, commended,
“We are thrilled to welcome Andy as the new Director of Policing at Content Guru,”
“Andy’s appointment reflects our ongoing investment in the policing sector, ensuring forces have access to the technology they need to deliver effective and reliable public contact.”
