teletech.image.jan.2016TeleTech, the US based Outsourcer, have confirmed that 95 jobs are being axed at the Belfast based contact centre and have entetred a 30-day consultation period with staff.

It is understood that the job losses came after mobile phone operator T-Mobile withdrew their outsource contract with the company.

A spokeswoman for TeleTech said:

“TeleTech was recently notified by one of our clients of their plan to cease operations in TeleTech’s Belfast contact centre in response to changing business needs. “As a result, approximately 95 positions will be eliminated in our Belfast centre, effective July 31, 2016.”

“The decision is in no way a reflection on the quality of work performed in Belfast and in fact the client has confirmed that the performance from our Belfast site was very good. Our employees are our top priority and we are committed to treating them with dignity and respect throughout this transition.

“Our main goal will be to look at re-deployment opportunities for impacted employees and we will be assisting them with making informed decisions about their careers.”
