Recruitment is under way at Just Eat as it announces details of their 1,500 seat contact centre at Rainton Bridge, Houghton-le-Spring which represents a £100m in the region.
Staff at the Sunderland contact centre will initially work from home with the company introducing a hybrid model over the coming months.
Andrew Kenny, Managing Director, Just Eat UK said that the take away delivery company is transfering its customer service operation, currently run in Bulgaria and India, to the UK to provide a better service to its customers which has been confirmed by an increased levels of customer satisfaction from customers calling the 300 staff already working at the contact centre.
“As part of our ongoing investment in our UK business, we’re delighted to be creating upwards of a thousand new employment opportunities in our customer care department over the next 12 months.
“Alongside the launch of our worker model for couriers, this move will help us to bring the very best service to our customers and restaurant partners as demand for food delivery goes from strength to strength in the UK.
