The Telford NHS helpline has reached he landmark of receiving its 250,000th call since being take over by West Midlands Ambulance Service November 2011.
Since WMAS took over the service it has achieved 97% of calls being answered within 60 seconds (national Target set at 85%) and on many occasions the agents answered 100% of calls within 60 seconds.
Teresa Beresford, NHS 111 training lead, said:
“Reaching 250,000 calls is an important landmark for us and we now look forward to successfully reaching further milestones. Performance remains strong since WMAS stepped in to run the 111 service and that is all down to the determination of our staff to perform to the best of their ability.”
