NFU Celebrates 25 years of CallFirst Contact Centre

The NFU is proud to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its CallFirst contact centre service, which has become an invaluable resource for thousands of members since its inception in 1999.

CallFirst continues to provide essential initial legal, business and professional advice, empowering farmers and growers across the UK to tackle a wide range of challenges.

Over the past year alone, CallFirst advisers have handled over 45,000 calls which have made a tangible difference to NFU members and their businesses by ensuring they receive top-tier advice whenever they need it.

The service has grown exponentially over the last 25 years, now offering access to 21 legal and technical advisers with expertise in areas such as employment law, land management and animal welfare. The CallFirst team of customer service advisors are on hand to assist members with general member enquiries quickly and efficiently and pride themselves on ensuring members calls are answered and dealt with as quickly as possible.

NFU President Tom Bradshaw said:

“CallFirst is a vital support system for our members. For 25 years, it has delivered timely and expert advice that has helped farmers and growers navigate legal and business complexities, with our CallFirst advisers going above and beyond to ensure that members receive the best possible outcome.

“Whether its resolving disputes, managing land transactions or offering practical guidance, the value CallFirst brings to our farming community cannot be overstated.

“This is a brilliant service and I would urge members to use it and maximise the value of their NFU membership.”

NFU business services manager Kirsty Kane said:

“It’s incredible to reflect on the journey of CallFirst over the last quarter of a century. We’ve even got one adviser in the team who has been with us since day one.

“Our team of advisers work tirelessly to ensure members receive the highest level of service. We pride ourselves on being more than just a helpline – we are a lifeline for many of our members facing complex issues.

“Every day we hear success stories where CallFirst has made a real difference in members’ lives, and we look forward to continuing this legacy.”
